Suddath 2017 Year in Review

In Memoriam – Quinn Bell The Suddath Companies lost a great friend and leader, Mr. Quinn Bell, who passed away peacefully October 18th, 2017 with his wife of 60 years, Ann Bell, by his side. Dick Suddath hired Quinn in 1968 as a General Manager after hearing of Quinn’s legendary talents at Atlas Van Lines. It was a much smaller Suddath in those years, with a few branches in Florida and southern Georgia. Quinn quickly recognized the need for additional talent, and over the course of the next few years, brought in a combination of youth and experience with whom he superbly managed to grow Suddath from a regional player into an industry leader. In the early 70s, Quinn was promoted to President, and then later to Chief Executive Officer. He not only provided inspirational leadership here at Suddath, but capably served as a highly respected board member of United Van Lines (now UniGroup) during some of its most profitable and successful years. Quinn was a recognized leader in both domestic and international household goods industry associations. His good name and reputation were synonymous with the Suddath organization.

Even if you did not know him personally, the echo of his leadership, his legacy and his touch can be felt to the far corners of The Suddath Companies and the industry as a whole. We are grateful for the years we had with him.
