Suddath 2017 Year in Review

S U DD A T H 2017

Year in Review

Letter from our CEO

Suddath ® moves people, products and businesses across town and around the world. We are a customer- centric and employee-centric organization, offering personal solutions and endless opportunities for our clients and employees. Quality and safety are our #1 priority here, and we are always reimagining the way the world moves. Looking back on 2017, we broke ground in our industry and created a patent pending technology called Tracker, powered by Telescio SM , that we believe will revolutionize commercial moving. In our quest to be the easiest and most efficient company to do business with, we actively invest in technology, in addition to more traditional infrastructure, while also focusing on quality, safety and service. In 2017, we received numerous certifications and awards, such as the previously mentioned pending patent on our new Telescio SM technology, the “Best Place to Work” in the Florida Times Union’s Bold City Best awards, the Vanliner Insurance Company’s “Excellence in Loss Prevention” award, the FIDI Accredited International Mover (FAIM) Confirmation of Quality Assurance certificate and the Jacksonville Business Journal’s BizTech award recognizing leaders in industry technology – just to name a few.

We also took an early and aggressive approach in Electronic Logging Device (ELD) compliance and training with our van operators. Now that government regulations mandating ELD usage are in effect, all our drivers were prepared for this transition before it was mandatory. They are the fuel that keeps our company moving forward, and we want to go above and beyond to make sure they can continue to be the best. As a company, we believe it is important to give back. Each year, Suddath chooses to make an investment to keep a year-round disaster relief trailer fully-stocked with relief equipment and supplies like generators, first aid kits, water, food, cooking supplies, sanitary items along with a disaster response team who is ready at a moment’s notice. Our response team arrives on scene with our relief trailer in the immediate aftermath of a natural disaster to help our employees get back on their feet. Suddath is a company with a footprint spanning coast-to-coast in the United States. In a year with a very active hurricane season, our preparedness, emergency response and keeping a well-stocked disaster relief trailer were put to the test. When employees can get back on their feet faster, they, in turn, are able to serve their communities and our customers in the aftermath of a disaster. We also entered into many new partnerships this year, completing projects for large government organizations, Fortune 500 corporations, hotels and resorts, and large medical research facilities. All our business lines continue to see growth and in 2017 we became the largest commercial moving company in North America. In 2018, we will continue to drive operational excellence in the areas of safety, quality, cost management and capacity development. Looking onward to 2018, we launched Suddath University at the tail end of 2017, to improve consistency, accuracy, safety and ensure accountability for achieving the highest levels of customer service quality as a market leader. What We Do Matters ® to our employees, partners and customers, and we are proud of our accomplishments this past year and excited about our promising future. On behalf of the board of directors of The Suddath Companies, thank you for your continued support. To our employees, our most sincere appreciation for continuing to drive innovation in your respective business units and always making the customer first in everything you do, each and every day.

Sincerely, Michael J. Brannigan President and CEO The Suddath Companies

Technology Driven Improvements Across Our System

Expanded use of Warehouse Management System: HighJump ™ In 2017, Suddath expanded the use of our warehouse management system (HighJump) to Orlando, Atlanta, Ft. Lauderdale, Edina, Seattle and Dallas. St. Petersburg and Miami are in the set-up phases now, with planned conversions in Q1 of 2018. HighJump is a Tier-1 warehouse management system which records real-time, transaction-level detail of all warehouse activities. This enables us to have more accurate inventory accounting and billing, improve performance and reduce lost-item claims. This year, the Client Portal was made available to our clients who now have access to their receipts, shipments and inventory, along with the ability to create their own delivery requests online. This feature has streamlined our process and reduced operating errors. Suddath Technology is working on the development of features within HighJump that uniquely support the execution of Hospitality projects that have a specific scope, sequencing and activity schedule. Warehouse activities and data are captured in HighJump and then tracked throughout the life cycle of the project.

We continue to invest in the deployment of HighJump throughout the enterprise, including the system-wide standardization of warehouse operations.

Branch Optimization Office 365 is completely rolled out across the company. This was a long-term goal to bring connectivity and collaboration to our employees at all our nationwide locations.

Our international team within the Global Logistics division provides end-to-end supply chain solutions over and above simply shipping cargo around the world. Feature Projects

NOAA

Feature Project: NOAA We pride ourselves on our professionalism and exceptional customer service when executing a relocation. We don’t shy away from a challenge, especially when schedules and budgets are pressed. In fact, it’s facing challenges where we truly shine. This year has presented projects that required quick turnaround times, such as relocations of hundreds of employees that needed to be up and running the next day. Throughout these unique situations, we have gone above and beyond to ensure that our clients are happy, well informed and their business continuity is optimized. One such project that stood out in 2017 was the relocation of The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The sheer magnitude of this relocation required us to be flexible in our scheduling and astute in the handling of all the detailed project requirements. NOAA trusted us to relocate 120 of their employees and millions of dollars in aircraft equipment from MacDill Airforce Base in Tampa, Florida to Linder Regional Airport in Lakeland, Florida. It was of the utmost importance that vital daily operations remained uninterrupted during the move. This project included high-value radar equipment, aircraft parts, metal fabricators, office furniture and a large mezzanine structure. With so many critical pieces in motion, it was essential to utilize our Tracker application, powered by Telescio. SM This Suddath proprietary technology enabled NOAA to have a comprehensive view of its move, with details of each asset and where it was in the relocation process. This level of transparency gave NOAA the confidence to know its equipment was being expertly handled. It knew exactly where its assets were at all times, and was notified with completion alerts. Captain Gallagher of NOAA stated, “Suddath went above and beyond contractual requirements to provide a high-quality move service. They not only provided the required service, but they were able to provide the highest quality management services, which put the government at ease during an extremely stressful move. The move management plan and inventory management plan were all very high quality, setting the government up for success. They were highly organized in their approach to the move, extremely reliable and provided the highest quality oversight of a complex project. Without the quality service received, this move could have been extremely stressful and burdensome, not to mention high-dollar-value items such as aviation equipment that could have been damaged.”

Global Logistics

Leading US Pharmacy Store Chain Our Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment (FF&E) team finalized a nationwide project involving nearly 1,000 deliveries for a major photo lab. The project, which was led by account manager Jennifer Montgomery along with logistics coordinator Aileen Catman, finished in three months with on-time performance at 99.8%. This is a huge win and a prime example of our great daily dedication to our customers. Panera Bread Company Suddath was awarded a four-store pilot project from Panera Bread Company. This came following a visit and meeting at our Suddath headquarters in Jacksonville, Florida. Logistics transported the FF&E and provided inventory visibility along with project management. As a result, Global Logistics was awarded a seven-week remodeling project where we coordinated consolidation services and Final-Mile delivery. Wolverine Worldwide In 2017, Global Logistics was awarded a project from Wolverine Worldwide, a leader in premium work-boot style footwear, to manage the closing of over 50 locations of one of their name brands. As retailers compete with online buyers, we are seeing an increase in strategic footprint reductions with many of our current and new customers. Items from the closings will be re-distributed and ultimately sold through other Wolverine retail locations. Leading Restaurant Supply Distributor We were awarded the business of a leading Florida-based company, established in 1998, that furnishes the domestic food service industry with glassware, flatware, plates and more. Our new customer’s client list includes industry names such as Olive Garden, ® Red Lobster, ® Outback Steakhouse, ® Wal-Mart ® and Sam’s Club ® . Leading Wellness and Supplement Company The contract logistics teamassisted an international e-commerce wellness company with third-party supply chain services. We store their sensitive products in our temperature-controlled Pritchard Road facility in Jacksonville, Florida. Wilshire Grand Hotel Our Hospitality division of Workplace Solutions, managed the warehousing, delivery and installation of the largest building west of Chicago, The Wilshire Grand Hotel. Located in the heart of downtown Los Angeles, the 900-room hotel was still under construction and lacked loading docks. Amidst the logistical challenges, we delivered and installed FF&E for guestrooms, multiple public use areas, three restaurants and several banquet centers. LA NFL Team We provided game day management for the Los Angeles Rams and visiting teams. Suddath is one of the top ranked gameday management crews in the NFL, and has recently acquired more NFL teams due to our reputation of excellence. Some members of our team travel with the Rams when they play overseas to ensure all equipment is transported properly.

Firehouse Subs Firehouse Subs contracted Suddath to create a more contemporary, functional and efficient workspace in efforts to attract and retain the best talent in the marketplace. We met aggressive timelines and budget challenges by providing value-oriented solutions for new furniture. To modernize the office, we incorporated Firehouse’s signature red into the panel fabric of the cubicles and helped keep costs down by integrating 90 new workstations with its existing private office furniture. We successfully delivered the modern, sleek office design Firehouse had envisioned for its new space, while staying within budget. Multinational Technology Company Our Fortune 100 multinational technology client needed to disconnect, move and reconnect around 6,200 offices at their Seattle headquarters over the span of one month. Our team managed to move at a rate of 200 employees per day. When others thought the task was impossible and deadlines would be missed, we didn’t hesitate to work through two weekends. This was record breaking for Suddath on this campus and highly impressive in the commercial moving world – deadlines were never missed and our client never lost productivity. U.S. Government Museum and Research Institute Workplace Solutions in the Washington, D.C. area relocated several temperature and humidity-controlled archive storage vaults for a large U.S. Government museum and research institute. We were responsible for the safe handling, moving and storage for thousands of boxes and crates containing rare, original papers and precious artifacts representing important moments in our country’s history. The institute’s administrative specialist commented, “Thank you for sending such an awesome team. They were very professional, prompt, and responsive. They were very attentive to our job and ensured it was done right. Words cannot really express how elated we are to have worked with such a great team. Many thanks and we look forward to conducting business with you again.”

Global Moving Services

Largest Social Media Company Suddath recently moved the social media company’s new Chief Information Officer and his family from New York to Northern California. He was previously the CIO at a multinational media conglomerate before deciding to join the leadership team at one of the most influential, forward thinking organizations in the world. Mining Technology Company Lexicon ® Relocation won a contract with a mining technology company based in Tucson, Arizona. This customer was an existing, valued Suddath client however, it managed its relocations in-house. Pleased with our previous performances and successful service delivery model, it awarded Lexicon the relocation management contract.

Engineering Services Firm Suddath had an existing relationship with this engineering, infrastructure, defense and construction company, who was pleased with our service delivery. Therefore, when it was looking for a more structured global mobility program with a higher level of oversight it awarded the business to Lexicon Relocation. This new contract was awarded to Lexicon because of our depth of relocation knowledge, can-do attitudes and robust offerings, providing the desired level of support and oversight the client needed to have a successful program. Academic Medical Center Lexicon formed a new relationship with a high-profile, academic medical center that integrates clinical and hospital care with research and education. The center is ranked as the nation’s No. 2 healthcare system by U.S. News & World Report. The medical center was looking for an organization that had very close ties to the London market to assist them as its program expanded. Our knowledge of the market, along with our flexibility to respond quickly, afforded us the opportunity to win the business. Over 50 of the medical center’s employees will be internationally relocated annually. Insurance Underwriting Corporation Lexicon was awarded a new relocation contract with an insurance underwriting corporation located in White Plains, New York. Prior to engaging with Lexicon, the company historically provided only a lump-sum relocation allowance to its employees. However, feedback from their transferring employees and new hires included concerns of the lack of support at destination. We worked with the client to develop a three-tier, managed-cap solution to bring about higher employee satisfaction. Consumer Insight and Data Analysis Company Lexicon is now collaborating with a data analysis and management consulting firm to provide full-service domestic relocation, including home sale services, expense management and household goods moving. Lexicon will be responsible for relocating 45 employees domestically each year and reinforce he client’s talent acquisition and retention strategies.

We are LEAN

LEAN Six Sigma Global Logistics has taken active steps to invest in the enrichment of our employees. 2017 was a significant time of training and development. Suddath Global Logistics recently completed the LEAN training and rollout which was led by Manju Thirtha, VP of solutions engineering.

Lean Belts : Over the past few years, 31 employees have received their yellow belt certification in LEAN Six Sigma core concepts. This methodology helps our employees to lead warehouse organization efforts using ‘6S’ (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, Safety). These concepts provide future benefits of increased efficiencies, reduced costs, and a more effective workforce at all our locations. In 2017, Manju Thirtha earned his black belt – the most prestigious ranking of understanding and mastery of LEAN Six Sigma. Customs Brokerage : Another Suddath Import Specialist, Lynne Shifflett, successfully passed the customs brokerage license exam which is essential to assisting our clients with shipping goods internationally. The pass rate for this exam is 11%, which is lower than medical, law bar, and certified public accountant exams. Certification topics can include everything from trade agreements, valuation, broker compliance, foreign trade zones/bonded warehouse, fines, penalties and other subjects relevant to a broker’s duties. Hazardous Goods Handling : These globally practiced standards are critical to our industry and it is imperative that as an organization we study and comply accordingly. Dangerous materials are currently separated into nine different Hazard Classes that are agreed upon worldwide. Global Logistics has three international employees: Vice President of Operations, James Hallstead; Logistics Coordinator, Steve Hough; and Senior Logistics Coordinator, Keith Yoder, who obtained Hazardous Goods Certifications this year.

Network Ops • Nick Christian, General Manager of our South Florida locations, completed the UniGroup Strategic Leadership Program. • Electronic Log Devices (ELDs) became federally mandatory towards the end of 2017 for any commercial motor vehicle over 10,000 lbs. Suddath took an early and aggressive approach to ELD training and compliance so our drivers would smoothly adapt to the mandate before it took place. ELDs provide real- time visibility to van operators’ hours of service and helps ensure the safety of our drivers and the motoring public. We anticipate this transparency will benefit our clients and drivers by being able to use the data to forecast, better manage hours and anticipate delays. • We continued our fleet refresh in 2017. Our customers benefit by having a newer piece of equipment arrive to service their home or office move. This also benefits us by reducing downtime due to maintenance and repairs, making our fleet more efficient overall.

Workplace Solutions • Workplace Solutions teamed up with Ed Katz and the International Office Moving Institute (IOMI) to provide online certification for all personnel, from movers and coordinators to General Managers. These tools are available to anyone at Suddath involved with the commercial side of our business. Prior to this release, IOMI courses were only available on a limited, in-person basis. IOMI is an independent and internationally recognized organization that offers training programs and seminars in office moving and project management methods, techniques and business practices.

JBJ BizTech Award Congratulations to our Technology and Workplace Solutions teams! They received a Jacksonville Business Journal BizTech award for innovation for the newly developed Tracker system, powered by Telescio. SM Suddath saw the need to change relocation inventory management and create a more innovative and technology- based approach. John Tran, Business Program Manager, and the team of technology experts developed a digital tracking system unlike anything ever seen in the relocation business. The inventory tracking module is a web-based system that digitally tracks every movement of every piece of inventory through the relocation process. Computers, files, furniture and other items are visible via web interface, thus maintaining total chain- of-custody visibility and assuring proper placement at final destination. Within the web portal section, Suddath clients can watch the project dashboard move from 0-100% completion. The tracking module even notifies employees when their workspace is ready for business. Thank you to the Workplace Solutions and Technology teams for all the time and hard work invested in to developing this incredible tool.

What We Do Matters ®

Move for Hunger Suddath partnered with Move For Hunger, a national 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, to help fight hunger and provide much-needed assistance to food banks across the country. As a partner, we will support Move For Hunger’s efforts to reduce food waste and fight hunger nationwide. To date, the non-profit’s network of relocation professionals has collected and delivered more than 7.6 million pounds of food – providing more than 6.3 million meals to local community food banks and pantries across the United States and Canada. When people move, they often throw out a good deal of "stuff." Unfortunately, much of this stuff is non- perishable food that could be delivered to a family in need. Suddath has locations across the United States that are collecting non-perishable food items from their residential moving customers and delivering them directly to their local food banks. The service is free to our customers and turns every move into an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate, simply by donating the cans and non-perishables on moving day. “Every community in the United States has residents who are facing hunger; meanwhile, 40% of all food produced in our country ends up in a landfill,” explains Adam Lowy, Executive Director and Founder of Move For Hunger. “It’s because of partners like The Suddath Companies that we’re able to continue our mission of getting food to the people who need it most. We are so grateful for their support.” “At Suddath, we live daily by our values of integrity, trust, innovation, commitment and teamwork. We are invested in our local communities, believe in doing what’s best and giving back to those around us,” said Michael Brannigan, chief executive officer for The Suddath Companies. “It is an honor to be a Move For Hunger partner and we look forward to making a lasting impact on the lives we touch.”

The city of Jacksonville hosts the largest Veterans Day parade in the State of Florida with an audience of over 20,000 spectators and 4,000 parade participants who celebrate this important community event. Suddath had around 100 participants, both employees and family members, including veterans, and everyone enjoyed themselves. It was an honor for Suddath to have the opportunity to show our gratitude for our Veterans and active military. Even Suddath families with young children loved the opportunity for their kids to experience the importance of being involved in the community, as well as show their appreciation. Scott Kelly, President of Suddath Government Services, was especially proud of everyone and the participation from all Suddath locations in Jacksonville.

Smiles Foundation Suddath is proud to announce a new philanthropic partnership with the Smiles Foundation. The Smiles Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of disadvantaged children in the Dominican Republic by offering free dental care and preventative health education.
