Executive Insight Mike Brannigan, CEO

As newly appointed president and chief executive officer of The Suddath Companies, it is an honor and privilege to occupy the same position held by a very distinguished, select group of former leaders who never lost sight of the principles on which this company was founded. We are proudly rooted in a legacy of quality and customer service that spans close to a century and I look forward to continuing that on into the future. One of my most important roles as CEO is to foster a dynamic and positive work environment for everyone in our company. I want Suddath ® to be a great place to work, with people who are proud to work here, feel good

about their jobs and provide world-class service. To that end, we sincerely appreciate our employees and want to equip you with the tools you need to succeed—whether that’s in the form of technology, like the new Learning Center on Workday, or in the form of guidance and policy from our compliance program rollout. This edition of LiFT contains multiple examples of Suddath employees who take it personally – going above and beyond for our company as well as our customers. We especially salute our van operators, the lifeblood of our business, for sacrificing time with their families to get the job done. Be sure and click on the “Day in the Life of a Driver” video on page 4 to get a very real and raw perspective of life on the road as an owner operator. We also appreciate our customers, from down the street or across the globe. One of the highlights of this spring was our inaugural Client Summit, hosted by our client relations team. After three focused days together, you learn a lot about what you’re doing right, what needs improvement and what is expected from your clients, prospects and suppliers. Attendees had a front-row seat to experience Suddath from the executive level to our warehouse crew folks, who facilitated our “Movers Minute-To-Win-It” contest, right down to my favorite part of the summit, the Suddath Driver Advisory Council featuring award-winning van operators Chris Cartwright, Brian Megnauth and Dexter Ramsey (all pictured below).

We are proud to share our winning spirit which is reflected in the stories and features contained in these pages. Thank you for taking the time to review this latest edition of LiFT and as always, we look forward to your comments and suggestions.

Feature Article Suddath Compliance Program: What We Do Matters SM Branded “What We Do Matters, SM ”our Compliance Program, formally set to roll out September 15, empowers every employee with the responsibility to create a positive work environment by promoting open communication, safety, quality and ethical behavior. This article features internal champion and compliance officer of our new Compliance Program, Joanna Aman, and her insight as to what this means for every employee at Suddath.

With the business landscape becoming more and more complex and regulations in our industry at an all-time high, companies need a “tool kit” to guide them. For Suddath, our Compliance Program is that tool kit for employees to use when they are unsure of how to handle a particular situation at work. “The Compliance Program reflects what we think good behavior looks like as a Suddath employee,” explains Joanna Aman, general counsel and compliance officer for The Suddath Companies. “Our Code and Compliance Program is not a ‘one size fits all’. It’s been years in the making to accurately reflect our culture and values. Every company is different and every program is different. We are proud to offer this to our employees to help them understand and comply with the laws and regulations that affect our business.” The cornerstone of the Compliance Program is the Code of Conduct. The Code gives general guidelines of expected behavior with the following themes: we respect one another; we avoid conflicts of interest; we protect what is ours; we compete with integrity; and we are responsible corporate citizens. An important part of the program is the open door policy which empowers employees to report a good faith concern or ask for guidance. All employees are encouraged to act on our values and speak up without fear of retaliation. “We cannot resolve a concern unless we know about it,” explains Aman. A newly established Compliance Helpline, offered in several different languages, is another resource available with the program. Sometimes the right answer is not always clear. In addition to the open door policy, our Code, training materials and helpline are all resources to deal with “gray areas” that one may encounter in business on a day-to-day basis. Speak up! We all have a role in compliance because What We Do Matters . SM

Business to Business The Power of Partnership: Inaugural Suddath Client Summit Propelled by the theme “Powered by Partnership,” the Suddath client relations team hosted an inaugural Client Summit this past April at the One Ocean Resort in Atlantic Beach, Florida. More than 50 clients, prospects and suppliers from across the

country came together for the three-day event to educate, collaborate, and innovate in the areas impacting global mobility.

Peggy Smith, CEO of Worldwide ERC, ® opened the summit with her vision of “partnership” in the global marketplace. The event offered eight educational sessions that covered topics from valuation and international insurance to a peak season preparation pep talk by David Cox, president of Suddath Relocation Systems. Participants earned 11 continuing education credits towards their CRP, or Certified Relocation Professional, status. Adding a new and creative twist to the event was the addition of a specially trained artist who graphically recorded the subject matter on large format white boards. These visual roadmaps brightened up the meeting space, served as instant reminders of the informative sessions throughout the summit

and captured the vital topics and trends in our industry (pictured). Another highlight of the event came as the “Day in the Life of a Driver” video was unveiled documenting a corporate client move from Minneapolis to Jacksonville with award-winning van operator Chris Cartwright at the helm. Immediately following the video, and equally as engaging, was the candid and raw panel discussion about life on the road from select members of the Suddath Driver Advisory Council. Panelists Brian Megnauth, Dexter Ramsey and Chris Cartwright left everyone in the room in awe of the sacrifices they, and all our van operators, make every day. “Our van operators are the lifeblood of our business. We couldn’t do what we do without them,” explains vice president of client relations and summit hostess, Teela Gleason. “It was important to

1,400 miles. 48,000 pounds. Four family members. Being a van operator is more than just numbers. Click for an inside glimpse of a “Day in the Life of a Driver”

show our clients and prospects what a corporate move looks like from beginning to end. It was evident that we have very proud and professional employees throughout Suddath that work hard to ensure quality relocations.” The Client Summit concluded with attendees eagerly giving their suggestions of topics for future client events for many years to come. Now that’s the power of partnership!

It’s a new day with Workday ® Part 2 – The Learning Center – Learning Management System The previous edition of LiFT profiled the human capital management (HCM) aspect of Workday, and in part two of this series, we will cover another function, the learning management system. Just like the rocket chosen to represent it on the Workday dashboard, the learning management system is designed to launch one’s own development throughout a career at Suddath. Known officially as ”The Learning Center,” this software application is an online resource to document, track and report professional development through education and training courses for all employees. The goal of The Learning Center is threefold: inform, learn and succeed.

Employees can enhance and improve their skills on their own through training in software, people skills and even learn more about our company. Consequently, managers have access to specific supervisory topics as well as the ability to assign curriculum and training for their employees. When combined with the human capital management aspect, both employee and manager develop a holistic view of hard and soft skills that can be considered for career growth opportunities going forward.

Setting the Standard (continued) “The exciting part of The Learning Center is two-fold, the ability to not only learn about the company as a whole, but develop your own personal skills and abilities,” explains senior vice president of human resources, Elizabeth Spradley. “Managers can assign e-learning courses and special training so employees can boost efficiencies and productivity by ramping up quicker to customer projects or assignments. It’s a very effective training tool for both the employee and manager.”

Part encyclopedia, part YouTube, ® The Learning Center allows employees to view videos, tutorials and training classes at their leisure. (Hint: that’s why employees were given Suddath-branded earbuds during employee appreciation to take advantage of this learning and training resource at their workstation!) There are onboarding presentations for every business unit including important company history as well as tutorials on the Microsoft suite of products including Excel, Word and PowerPoint and on-the-job-training tools.

Two important dropdowns in the Learning tab are the “browse for training” and the “knowledge bank”. Browse for Training features topics that are specific to Suddath and our industry, and contains 52 online classes, similar to UniGroup University. The Knowledge Bank contains job aides, in PDF format, that give step-by-step instructions and self-guided tutorials with screen shots. For example, the top three areas visited are performance appraisals, payroll and time-off requests — think of it as a digital how-to guide. The features and benefits of this system are too numerous to mention here and will continue to grow and expand based on the future needs of Suddath — and just like the rocket, the sky’s the limit!

Making a Difference SRS Minnesota National Account Coordinator Cindy Chamberlain finds passport and saves couple’s honeymoon We all know the longstanding wedding tradition of having ‘something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue,’ but how about something found ? Thanks to the efforts of Suddath employee Cindy Chamberlain, corporate transferee Ryan Hanson and his fiancé, Amber, were able to locate his passport which got packed away before their July 2 nuptials in Idaho.

Making a Difference (continued) With his honeymoon looming and frustrated bride-to-be fuming, Hanson realized his only hope was to call his move coordinator to try and track down the passport in his shipment from Salt Lake City. Through a series of calls, Chamberlain located his shipment in overflow waiting to be crated for the move to Minnesota. Hanson and his brother made the three-hour drive to the origin branch, and breathed a huge sigh of relief when, thanks to the detailed inventory sheet, they found the passport in the second box they opened!

Celebrating Suddath Every year we take a moment to celebrate our employees who have made Suddath the industry leader we are today. This year's employee appreciation week was held April 20-24 to reflect, celebrate and honor the achievements of our employees across the entire system. “I honestly can't thank you enough for the help you provided and I can't express enough what a blessing it is for Amber and I that we were able to locate it. You literally saved the day,” writes Hanson to Chamberlain on his wedding day, no less! “When I opened that box and found the passport I was beyond relieved. I hope you know what a difference you've made to save the biggest day in Amber's and my life.” Suddath salutes National Account Coordinator Cindy Chamberlain for making a difference and continuing Setting The Standard for Moving the World . ®

Our tradition continues with employees of each business unit voting for one “Employee of the Year” that embodies the true spirit of our company. We congratulate each of the following recipients and their respective business units: The Suddath Companies – Dave Hudgens Suddath Relocation Systems – Mark Bonsiero Suddath Global Logistics – Jennifer Montgomery Suddath International – Daisy Drayton Suddath Government Services ® Domestic – Nuno Cordeiro International – Donna Simons

2015 Van Operator Appreciation Week In order to show our appreciation to the lifeblood of our business, van operators from across the country were treated to home-cooked meals and cookouts, goodie bags and even cotton candy at our various branch locations. Additionally, several initiatives proved successful for our ongoing commitment to recruit and retain the best van operators in the business including a contest to finish the following sentence: “ The best thing(s) about being a van operator with Suddath”. Congratulations to van operator Wade Moran, who completed the above sentence with the following: “are the people at all levels within the company. They are my support system along with my family through those very challenging days! Thank you!”

Second place went to Jovier Garcia with “the organization is sensitive, respectful and works hard for us. Thanks.” Joe Szirovicza, affectionately known as ‘Joe Pizza’ garnered third place with his sentiment about being a Suddath van operator: “That I get to do what I love. If we can’t do it, it can’t be done!” At Suddath, EVERY week is Van Operator Appreciation Week and we thank all our van operators for helping us to continue Setting The Standard for Moving the World . ®

Be on the Lookout for… Suddath Advantage Program

Thanks to the Suddath Advantage Program, Phil Ostrander, Jr. is now the proud owner of a 2016 Kenworth T660 86” studio sleeper tractor. Celebrating his one-year anniversary with Suddath, Phil is our newest owner operator out of the Tampa/St. Petersburg branch where he and his father Phil Sr., and mom, Linda are all part of the Suddath family and have been veterans of the business for a long time.

We understand the unique nature of what van operators do and the challenges they face when trying to obtain a truck. It’s challenging to find a finance company that understands the nuances of our business which can make the purchasing and financing process difficult. That is why Suddath has partnered with Trans Advantage ® , the industry leader in commercial vehicle sales and financing for the past 50 years, to help our van operators and contractors get into a new rig and get on the road. Through this unique partnership, drivers are eligible for: • $1,000 credit on the purchase of any new or used tractor or straight truck • Enhanced and flexible financing packages • Attractive interest rates with a maximum rate of 12% (based on credit score – usually qualify for a much lower rate) • Less cash out of pocket required (in some cases no down payment) • One day quick credit approval process (with pre-approval) • White glove service to help drivers with all required paperwork • Payment deduction so drivers don’t have to worry about forgetting a payment and avoid late payment fees

Here We Grow Again Lexicon ® acquires U.K.-based relocation company, Connells Relocation Services Suddath was pleased to announce that Lexicon Relocation acquired the U.K.-based relocation company, Connells Relocation Services, Ltd, effective May 12, 2015. Connells Relocation, recognized as Relocation Provider of the Year in 2013, is one of the fastest growing relocation companies in the U.K. and a leader in quality service delivery. This acquisition is a bold step in investing in the future and overall strategic growth plans of Lexicon as part of The Suddath Companies.

“Not many people know our company operated a branch out of Key West, FL. Yes, Key West, FL. or as I call it paradise, which is where I began my career at Suddath. I began in the old round building, yes the building was round — we then moved to historic Catherine Street — which I still think to this day was haunted. Good haunted, though. Absolutely one of the most interesting and obviously BEST places to live and work...It is closed today, but will never be forgotten!” – Christine Anthony

“When Suddath came to Houston in 1996, I was working for another United agent in sales as the OA move surveyor. Suddath was one of my biggest customers. I enjoyed working with everyone at every branch and knew that the only way I could continue working with them would be to join them. That I did in January of 1997 and never looked back! Thank you for the memories. Suddath is a great company to work for and has been very good to me for the last 18 years.” – Terri Larson

“My daughter has been very fortunate to have received the Richard H. Suddath Scholarship award to help pay for her post high school education. Without the help from Suddath and this program, she would have needed to work her way through a 4-year degree to pay for her education and instead she is now able to focus on classes and future career. This scholarship has allowed her to use savings that were intended to pay for tuition and study abroad this summer in Spain and further enhance her education on a global level. Thank you to the entire Suddath organization for providing her and my family with this incredible opportunity!” – Don Johnson

“I was thankful and honored to be a part of the team that helped design and

donate two new vehicles for K9s For Warriors.”

“The strangest call I ever got as a coordinator came from one of our Dallas drivers. Frank Albright was loading some items from a residence in the New Orleans area about six months after Hurricane Katrina. He called me to advise that he would not be able to load the swing set from the back yard. It seems that a 4-foot alligator had taken up residence in the swimming pool and was blocking their path to the swing set.” – Alice aka “Alice in Dallas” Sears
